Monica Herrera, PA-C, is a dedicated and compassionate dermatology provider that was born and raised in Georgia. She earned her undergraduate degree in Exercise Science from Kennesaw State University, where she excelled both academically and athletically as a NCAA Division 1 Soccer Player. Following graduation, she gained versatile experience as a lead medical assistant working in primary care (family and internal medicine). Monica was then accepted into South College’s PA Program located in Nashville, TN where she earned her Master’s Degree of Health Science in Physician Assistant Studies.

Monica is board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and is an active member of the American Academy of Physician Associates (AAPA), the Georgia Association of Physician Assistants (GAPA), and the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (SDPA). She is passionate about educating and caring for her patients and is committed to helping them reach their goals at Southeast Dermatology Specialists.

Outside of her professional life, Monica cherishes time with her family, friends, and loved ones. An avid lover of the outdoors, she enjoys hiking, exploring nature’s beauty, and traveling. Her athletic background keeps her engaged in various sports, both as a participant and a fan, and she enjoys playing the piano and guitar in her free time.
